Letter from Mary Grew, Philadelphia, [Pa.], to William Lloyd Garrison, Oct. 4th, 1850
Description:
Mary Grew regrets that William Lloyd Garrison is unable to attend the meeting. Wendell Phillips is the only speaker who will satisfy the audience as Garrison's replacement. Grew emphatically writes: "Wendell must come, if you cannot." Grew is saddened that Mrs. Helen Eliza Garrison will not be visiting and sends her warmest sympathies over the "increased illness of Miss Benson."
