Letter from John Bishop Estlin, Bristol, to Samuel May, Sept. 2 and Sept. 3rd, 1846
Description:
Estlin acknowledges receipt of Southern newspapers sent to him by May. He says that Elihu Burritt called on him and made a long speech about his peace pledge. Estlin inquires about May's resignation from his Church. He reports that the meeting called to form a society auxiliary to the Anti-Slavery League was very successful and that Frederick Douglass' speech was very good.
