Letter from Daniel Foster, West Brookfield, [Mass.], to Samuel May, April 18, 1853
Description:
In response to a letter from May objecting to the sale of William Goodell's "Slavery and Anti-Slavery" on the ground that it would mislead persons unfamiliar with the subject matter, Foster asserts that only persons familiar with the subject would buy the book. Foster deplores the feud between the old and new organizations. He says that he needs the agency of the Massachusetts Anti-Slavery Society as a means of livelihood.
