Letter from Samuel May, Boston, to Richard Davis Webb, October 25, 1854
Description:
May asks Webb to forward a note to Mr. L. Howorth in Bury, Lancashire. May tells Webb that he is busy sending out solicitations for money. He refers to a letter from Parker Pillsbury. May asserts that he is not in favor of a union of the American and British Anti-Slavery Societies as he believes that the English followers of Garrison would be a submerged minority if the two groups were merged.
