Pillsbury sends documents relating to a pro-slavery book by the Honorable Amelia Murray. He tells May that he is trying to mitigate the book's effect on the British public. Pillsbury informs May that he Is planning to publish a speech he made at the Manchester Anti-Slavery Conference. He says that he does not expect to get any help for the anti-slavery cause from Derby and that it is doubtful he will return to England at a later date.
