Description:
Miss Wigham gives an account of Mary Anne Estlin's travels and the state of her health. She describes the rivalry between the Garrisonian faction in Edinburgh and the followers of Julia Griffiths and Frederick Douglass. She mentions William Chambers' "American Slavery and Colour" and suggests a review of it by "The Liberator" or the "National Anti-Slavery Standard." Miss Wigham regrets the Dred Scott decision. She speaks of the death of George Armstrong and of the troubles in India.
