Letter from Ezra Stiles Gannett, Boston, to Samuel Joseph May and Samuel May, Oct. 29, 1869
Description:
Gannett writes to Samuel Joseph May to deny that he made a statement that May attributed to him in his "Recollections of the Anti-Slavery Conflict." Gannett refers to other passages in "Recollections" where he was quoted. / On the reverse of Gannett's letter to Samuel Joseph May, May wrote a letter from Syracuse to his cousin, Samuel May, on November 1. Samuel Joseph May asks for confirmation of certain remarks he attributed to Dr. Gannett in his "Recollections."
