Augustus Saint Gaudens, a celebrated American sculptor, b. in Dublin 1848, d. at Cornish (New Hampshire) 1907. He executed a number of large monuments and reliefs and plaquettes in bronze, in realistic style. In the background a colossal statue of General Logan by Saint Gaudens.
