The Historic Winslow House, Duxbury, Massachusetts. Governor Edward Winslow, born in England 1595, died at sea 1655. This estate was granted to him in 1632 and he gave it the name of Careswell. The first house was built by him in 1636. It was afterwards occupied by his son Gov. Josiah Winslow, the first native born Governor. This house was built in 1699 by his grandson Doctor Isaac Winslow.
