A.A. Phelps writes to his wife, Charlotte, about the difficulty he is having in getting places to lecture due to the tyranny of mobs. After discussing some recent activities, he talks about the prospect of becoming a preacher at "the Free Church" and also of obtaining editorships of "the Spectator." He says he intends to return home after the Convention.
