Letter from James Miller M'Kim, Philad[elphi]a, [Pa.], to William Lloyd Garrison, Aug[ust] 29th [1860]
Description:
James Miller M'Kim writes William Lloyd Garrison informing him that a unanimous vote by the Executive Committee compels him to write Garrison advising him that he is desperately desired to be present at the annual meeting to take place on the 16th of October. M'Kim notes that Garrison has not been to Pennsylvania for over two years, and states his hopes that, given Garrison's improved health, he will not decline their invitation. M'Kim asserts that they have invited no other such highly distinguished speakers as yet, but that they intend to extend an invitation to Wendell Phillips. M'Kim declares that they hope to resolve the "Presidential question" at the state meeting.
