Letter from Samuel Edmund Sewall, Boston, [Mass.], to William Lloyd Garrison, Jan[uary] 8, 1872
Description:
Samuel Edmund Sewall forwards to William Lloyd Garrion a petition they had previously discussed, and states his desire that, given Garrison's expressed willingness to sign it, he should like Garrison's signature to be the very first on the petition. Sewall states that he does not expect Garrison to solicit signatures, but encourages him to allow interested parties to sign prior to returning the petition to Sewall.
