Letter from Rufus Anderson, Boston, to Amos Augustus Phelps, June 10,1846
Description:
Rufus Anderson writes to Amos. A. Phelps that he is willing to lend him a copy of Dibble’s “History of the Sandwich Islands.” Regarding “Mr. Warren’s intercourse at the Missionary House,” Andersen is unable to give information. The conversation was almost entirely between Warren and Greene. Anderson doubts that Greene would have “placed the correspondence of the Sandwich Islands mission at the disposal of anyone not connected with the Executive of the board.” Greene had “the [correspondence] in his hand [in 1843]” and will be able to impart authentic information to Warren.
