Description:
A. C. Baldwin writes to Amos A. Phelps that he mentioned Phelps to Mr. Beecher, who responded enthusiastically. Mr. Beecher suggested that Phelps give a sermon in Hopkinton in his place and perhaps move to Boston to preach with himself and Baldwin for a while. Baldwin then discuss at length the status of Taylorism in the Boston area.
