Letter from Samuel May, Jr., Leicester, [Mass.], to William Lloyd Garrison, Jan[uary] 10 / [18]72
Description:
Samuel May, Jr. writes William Lloyd Garrison informing him that he is obliged to travel to Boston the following Monday, and proposes to depart on the "Saturday after next". May states that owing to this, Garrison need not journey to Leicester to meet him, and adds that in Garrison's "existing circumstances", he is unwilling to have Garrison leave his abode. May proposes that he should call upon Garrison the Sunday following his arrival. May closes by stating that under this arrangement, Garrison will thus owe him and his family a visit, "payable at first opportunity, with interest, i.e. not limited to 24 hours."
