Letter from Samuel May, Jr., Leicester, [Mass.], to William Lloyd Garrison, May 17 / [18]71
Description:
Samuel May, Jr. expresses his regrets to William Lloyd Garrison that, despite his enthusiasm for joining Garrison at the Longwood Meeting as invited, he is unable to do so. May states that "to [his] own great wonder", he has accepted a "job of work" for the town of Leicester which will occupy him to the "absolute exclusion of every other occupation" through the month of June.
