Letter from James Miller M'Kim, Phil[adelphi]a, [Pa.], to William Lloyd Garrison, Oct[ober] 5th [1860]
Description:
James Miller M'Kim writes William Lloyd Garrison informing him that he has learned through Oliver Johnson that the state of Garrison's health is such that it is improbably that Garrison should join them at the state meeting scheduled for the 25th. M'Kim states that while this is a great disappointment, it is less so than the news that Garrison's health has yet to fully return. M'Kim presses Garrison on their course of action, given that the "interest of our meeting was depending on the assurance" of Garrison's presence. M'Kim inquires if if is "absolutely impossible" for Phillips to join them.
