Letter from Amos Augustus Phelps, Philadelphia, to Charlotte Phelps, May 19, 1834
Description:
Amos A. Phelps writes to his wife, Charlotte, that he is in Philadelphia where a great antislavery meeting is being arranged. He says that, in spite of the untruthful newspaper coverage of the antislavery meeting in New York, the public will learn the truth soon. He talks about his intention to return home on the next Saturday with two ministers with him. He then says he must go to preach at Franklin or Walpole on the following Sabbath, and asks her to make the arrangement.
