Letter from Benjamin C. Bacon, Boston, to Amos Augustus Phelps, March 10. 1835
Description:
Benjamin C. Bacon writes to Amos A. Phelps about Nathan Winslow’s letter that Phelps has brought to him. He asks about the difference between the amount of money mentioned in the letter and the amount actually enclosed with it [for the Massachusetts Anti-Slavery Society]. (In the postscript, Bacon says Phelps’s other letter settles this matter.) Bacon says he is enclosing the names of people to whom he sent the “Maryland Scheme” ([a circular against the claims of the Maryland State Colonization Society]).
