Manuscript annotated on recto of attached note/newspaper clipping, with "Garrison MSS." stamped in blue ink. Attached clipping includes a newspaper dispatch concerning the Rev. Charles W. Denison, and his claim for compensation for "services rendered" the the United States government while in England during the Civil War, a period in which Denison was officially declared "absent without leave and dishonorably dismissed" from the Union Army.
