P. F. Parod, secretary for the "Comitato di pubblica Onoranza alla Memoria di Giuseppe Mazzini", informs William Lloyd Garrison that the Committee has "nominated and unanimously elected" Garrison an honorary member of its ranks, likening the principles of Garrison and Mazzini's respective labors, and recollecting Garrison's sympathy for the Committee "at an earlier stage" of its labors. Parod additionally extends the invitation to Garrison to be present at the inauguration of the monument dedicated to Mazzini to be erected in Central Park.
