Letter from R. H. Ober, Claremont, N.H., to William Lloyd Garrison, Dec[ember] 23, 1859
Description:
R. H. Ober writes William Lloyd Garrison expressing his pleasure to contribute financially to the family of John Brown, calling Brown one of "the most unselfish patriots who have blessed the world", and asserting that even in death, Brown and his associates will "speak in thunder tones in the ear of this guilty nation". Ober proposes to contribute to the Brown family by way of sending to them the "Liberator" if they do not already receive it.
