Letter from Alanson St. Clair, Sandwich, to Amos Augustus Phelps, March 30th 1839
Description:
In this letter to Amos A. Phelps, Alanson St. Clair says that Rider, an agent of the Mass. Society, is in Cape Cod trying to influence the American Society. He says more hands may be necessary on the Cape as Rider notified Phillips and Garrison about the upcoming county convention; he asks Phelps to write to orthodox clergymen on the cape about the situation. He also asks him to have an eye on Bristol County, and lists the names of clergymen to communicate with.
