Description:
In this letter to Amos A. Phelps, Nathaniel Southard discusses what kind of information will be found in the papers on slavery that he is sending to Phelps. He urges Phelps to attend the upcoming convention in New York, and to have Orange Scott and Wendell Phillips attend it as well. He reports on a strong annual meeting held in Broadway Hall in the previous night, as well as a certain force fighting against the Methodists.

The original recipient's name has been crossed out. Notes in pencil (presumably in the hand of Phelps) reads, "Rev. O. Scott, & H. B. Stanton - read & return."
