Joseph Warren Cross writes to Amos A. Phelps that the funds discussed previously have been made unavailable to him, and that he cannot render financial aid to Phelps. He mentions two places where the vacancies of pulpits are soon expected, and says Phelps can rely on whatever influence Cross has if he wishes to settle in any of these towns as a minister.
