Maria Weston Chapman reports on a board meeting of the Massachusetts Anti-Slavery Society. She refers to "this political vexation that they are in, with the crack in the Whig party." The committee for the anti-slavery fair request their friends to sign a petition by Francis Jackson and ninety-nine others to the city government, which has refused them the hall they want. Maria W. Chapman attended the West Roxbury sewing circle and spent the night at the house of Mrs. Sarah B. Shaw. Wendell Phillips and Buffum have agreed to address a meeting in Amory Hall on the English and American aspects of the cause. Dr. John Bowring has sent a piece for the Liberty Bell. Henry I. Bowditch's vigilance committee raised $800.
