She was delighted in the "Selections" from the writings of William Lloyd Garrison. Lupton was disappointed in Mrs. E. O. (Elizabeth Oakes) Smith's work on woman's rights. [Mrs. Elizabeth Oakes Smith's "Woman and Her Needs" was published in 1851.]
