Catherine H. Spear sends her most "hearty thanks for that beautiful copy of the Liberty Bell." She expresses gratitude for Caroline Weston's influence in her life. She discusses the practice of the Dedham ladies taking home their articles after the sale at the [Boston] fair closed. She regrets the prolonged presence of a Mrs. Jones at the Dedham table, who thus "had a full opportunity of poisoning" the minds of Catherine H. Spear's sisters. Having fallen down, Catherine H. Spear cannot attend the annual meeting.
