Edwin H. Coates realizes that there has been some misunderstanding in regard to his object in sending the picture frames. He explains that he wanted to make some contribution to the cause. Being poor, he thought of making frames out of the wood which was not burned in the Pennsylvania Hall fire and charging Maria Weston Chapman only for the work of making them. This matter has been a source of perplexity to Edwin H. Coates (the frames apparently having been lost). He wants Maria W. Chapman to come to the Pennsylvania state meeting.
