Denise Schwartz was born and raised in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, attended Kent State University in Ohio, and worked as a copy editor in different parts of New England for a number of years before meeting her husband John Paresky and moving to Western Massachusetts, where they had a son together. In this interview, Schwartz discusses her experience driving home from Florida at the beginning of the pandemic shut downs and her dawning awareness of the scale of pandemic. She also discusses the intentional ways she and her husband decided to interact with each other and with friends, the benefits of being able to spend time outside, and other issues.
