Anne heard Wendell Phillips give "First Impressions of Europe" at the Adelphic Union. She tells of calls made in Boston and Cambridge and gives news of various women acquaintances. Miss Fuller, the young Southerner who became a life member of the Massachusetts Anti-Slavery Society, fears that her abolition will separate her from her lover. David and Maria Mack are going to leave for Northampton to join the community there. Anne describes a carriage accident that befell her when Hervey Weston drove her to Weymouth. She gives news of relatives. She plans to "raise up" a back chamber as a "city of refuge" for Henry G. and Maria W. Chapman when they return from Haiti.
