Anne W. Weston explains her postponed departure for Groton and relates at length an incident of a girl (in the stagecoach) who lamented the loss of her bandbox. Anne, who is now visiting in Concord, praises and describes the mind and character of her hostess, Mrs. Brooks. She tells about various callers. Anne and Mrs. Brooks drove to Acton where they were hospitably received by Dr. and Mrs. Cowdry(?). Anne will travel by stage to Boston, where she will stay until after the Non-Resistance meeting. There is no prospect for an anti-slavery fair in Groton or Acton. Anne will call on the Alcotts.
