Holograph, signed.
Deborah Weston writes about the condition of Anne Warren Weston. According to Angelina [Ammidon?], Anne "is more scared than hurt" and was decidedly better when Angelina left New Bedford. Deborah describes a successful meeting [of the Female Anti-Slavery Society], where they raised $100, and about the hostile reactions to the reading of a notice of the meeting at Dr. Channing's church. One said: "...no one but Mrs. [Maria Weston] Chapman would have the impudence to do this."
Also with the Call No. Ms.A.9.2 v.8, p.30, is a receipt: "Boston, June 9, 1836--Rec'd of the Treasurer of the Mass. Anti Slavery Society-- thirty dollars on account." It is signed by Samuel J. May.
