Anne Warren Weston hears [Elliott] Cresson speak, and describes how Henry C. Chapman's walked out after Cresson had "snappishly remarked that he wished gentlemen would preserve silence." Garrison has received a letter from Gerrit Smith enclosing $50 for the Liberator. William Basset called to tell about affairs at Lynn, where the societies had unanimously opposed Charles Turner Torrey's request that they take action upon his circular. "Edwin Thompson has come out from the peelers and betrayed their plans to the faithful." Alanson St. Clair is to move a resolution "that the members of the Mass. Soc. and all male delegates take part in the meeting. It is thought that upon this the two parties will join battle." Anne gives news of friends and family, and of her health.
