Holograph.
Anne Warren Weston writes: "This is the account of Etruscan articles that Warren bought for us with the [Anti-Slavery] Fair money at Naples last spring." She explains a pencil memorandum of $5 that Edward Bagehot gave to Mary Estlin as a donation for the abolitionist cause.
This note is written on the verso of a receipt (financial record) from the Freres Giustiniani, a shop selling Etruscan reproductions in Naples, Italy. The date of sale was April 3, 1857.
