Holograph, signed.
George Thompson relates his departure from Springfield, where an egg was thrown at him. He describes his adventures on his way to Troy, accompanied by [George W.] Putnam. [George W. Putnam was Thompson's secretary on his second tour in the United States.] Putnam and Thompson thence went by team to Union Village, with an overnight stop at a village where Thompson fled to bed from the importunities of the curious citizens.
